Japan · 5 keyboards
Filco is the keyboard brand of Diatec, a Japanese company that opened for business on June 17, 1992. Diatec made plenty of oddities, including a keyboard shaped like a dinosaur, but the Majestouch line is what made its name, and enthusiasts found it around 2007 and 2008. A Korean StarCraft II pro, Fruitdealer, even played one of his final matches on a Filco during a live GomTV broadcast. Taiwan's Costar has built most of the wired boards. The recipe was Cherry MX switches on a metal plate, a heavy plastic case and no software. The Majestouch 2 brought a double-layer PCB, the Minila of 2013 was Diatec's first 60%, and the Majestouch 3 kept the old case and switched to doubleshot PBT caps. Filco is still making boards, and the Convertible 3X and Luce60 are among its recent releases.
