The Minila Air is the Bluetooth version of Filco's Minila. It keeps the five-row, 67-key US layout with an Fn key on each side of a short space bar, and the plate-mounted Cherry MX switches. It runs on two AA batteries, which Diatec rated at about six months at five hours a day, and it remembers up to three devices over Bluetooth 3.0. There's no USB connection at all. Diatec printed cmd and option on the front of the Windows and Alt caps for iPad and iPhone users, and listed Android and the PlayStation 3 as supported too. It got its own FCC ID and a registered design, and it came with Brown, Blue, Black or Red switches in US, ISO and JIS layouts. AA power suits a board this old, because there's no built-in battery to wear out. Check the battery compartment for corrosion instead.

Which Filco Majestouch Minila Air is it?
The wired Minila has the same layout with a USB cable and a USB port, and its model numbers start FFKB. The Air's start FFBT. The later Minila R Convertible is a different board with a new layout, doubleshot PBT caps, Bluetooth 5.1 and USB. US Airs have 67 keys, and ISO and JIS versions have 68 with a 1u left Shift.
What to check
Old AA batteries left inside can leak and corrode the contacts. Bluetooth 3.0 is old, and Diatec warned that some Android tablets may not work with it.
01Battery contacts: Ask for a photo of the open battery compartment. The springs and contacts should be bright metal with no green or white crust.
02Pairing: Ask the seller for a short video pairing it to a phone or computer and typing. It should connect and type without dropping keys.
03Layout: Check the photos for the left Shift key. The US board has a 2u left Shift, and ISO or JIS boards have a 1u one.
04Fn keys: Ask for a video holding each Fn key and pressing E, S, D and F. Both should give you working arrows.
05Keycap shine: Look at the space bar and home row in the photos with light on them. Some shine is normal on ABS, and faded legends mean heavy use.
06Chatter: Ask for a typing test video once it's paired. Every key should register once per press.
New to used keyboards? How to check a used keyboard covers chatter, stabilizers, keycap shine and the rest in detail.

Which one to buy
§ Oct 14, 2026
We'd buy the open-box US 67-key with Cherry MX Red at $150 delivered, the top of the $110–150 band, because it's the one board here from a US seller with the layout, switch and box all shown. There are at least 10 listed and most ship from Japan, where risingsungaming's three US-layout boards ask $142–147 delivered with $47 shipping. The Air runs on two AA batteries over Bluetooth 3.0 with no USB connection at all, so ask for a photo of the open battery compartment, where the contacts should be bright metal with no green or white crust, and a short video pairing it to a phone and typing. The US board has 67 keys, so a 68-key title means ISO or JIS. The $75 board from a US seller costs half as much but names no switch, so ask before you buy it.
