Leopold is a Korean keyboard maker based in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, and it dates itself to 2005. Its own timeline runs from the 200R layout in 2008 to the compact FC660M in 2013, its first Topre board, the FC660C, in 2014, and the FC980M in 2016. It claims the 660 and 980 layouts as world firsts. The formula hasn't changed much. You get a plain plastic case, no backlight, four DIP switches on the back, a sound-absorbing pad inside and thick 1.5 mm keycaps, now doubleshot PBT that Leopold makes itself. The Cherry MX boards are built in Taiwan. The two Topre boards were developed with Topre, and the FC980C's spec sheet says it was made by Topre in Japan. Bluetooth models arrived in 2021. In a listing, M and R mean Cherry MX, C means Topre, and BT means Bluetooth.
