The FC900R is Leopold's full-size board, 104 keys in a plain plastic case that weighs about 1.2 kg. There's no backlight and no software. You get Cherry MX switches soldered to a two-layer FR-4 board, four DIP switches underneath, a sound-absorbing pad inside and a cable channel that lets the cord leave to the left, right or middle. Leopold builds it in Taiwan and has offered it with Cherry Blue, Brown, Red, Black, Silent Red, Clear and Speed Silver switches. The keycaps are 1.5 mm doubleshot PBT, so the legends are molded in and can't rub off. You'll see two cap styles. PD is Leopold's own low profile and OE is a taller OEM profile. If you want a number pad and a board you can type on for years without thinking about it, this is the Leopold to look at. The Bluetooth FC900RBT looks almost the same, so read the title.

Which Leopold FC900R is it?
Leopold sells the wired FC900R in two keycap editions. PD has Leopold's own low-profile doubleshot PBT caps and OE has taller OEM-profile doubleshot PBT caps, and Leopold says that's the only difference. Later wired boards are listed as FC900R MX2A, with Cherry's revised MX2A switches. The FC900RBT and NP900RBT are separate Bluetooth boards with USB-C ports, while the wired FC900R uses Mini-USB. Clear and Speed Silver switches don't have their own switch pages here.
What to check
Leopold itself says the wire stabilizers on the space bar, Enter, Backspace and Shift can feel slightly mushy or scratchy, and that switch springs can ping. The detachable Mini-USB cable is easy to lose, but any Mini-USB data cable fits.
01Switch: Ask which Cherry MX switch it has, or for a photo with one keycap pulled. The stem color should match the listing, such as brown for Brown or clear for Clear.
02Model: Read the label on the underside in the photos. It should say FC900R, because FC900RBT is the Bluetooth board.
03Stabilizers: Ask for a short video tapping the space bar, Enter and both Shift keys. A faint tick is normal on these wire stabilizers, and a loud rattle or a sticking key isn't.
04Chatter: Ask the seller for a typing test video at keyboardtester.com or similar. Every key should register once per press.
05Cable: Check the photos for the detachable cable and the Mini-USB port on the underside. A missing cable is an easy fix with any Mini-USB data cable.
06DIP switches: On arrival, check the four DIP switches on the back with the cable unplugged. All four off is Leopold's factory layout.

Buying guide
Which one to buy
§ Oct 14, 2026
We'd buy the Ash Yellow FC900R with Cherry MX Silent Red switches at $107 delivered, from a US seller whose photo shows the cable. There are at least 8 listed, all in the US, and most ask $100–160 delivered, with the price set more by colorway and switch than by condition. Ask which Cherry switch it has where the title doesn't say, and for a video tapping the space bar, Enter and both Shifts, since Leopold calls a faint tick normal on its wire stabilizers but a loud rattle or a sticking key isn't. The switches are soldered, so a bad one is a desoldering job, which is why the untested board at $88 and the one titled with a defective Ctrl key at $105 aren't bargains. Skip the open-box PD with MX Blue at $270, about 2.4 times the $111 median.

The lowest delivered FC900R that isn't titled untested or faulty, at $95 from a 100% seller, and the photo shows a complete black board. The title names no switch, so ask which Cherry MX it has and whether the cable comes with it.
The Ash Yellow colorway with Cherry MX Silent Red switches as titled, a quiet linear, at $107 delivered and under the median. The photo shows the Mini-USB cable.
