Sea Melody is one of Varmilo's best-known themes, and you'll know it on sight. The case and modifiers are pale blue, the alphas are white with soft bubble prints, a whale swims across the space bar, and jellyfish and shell keys sit where you'd expect plain ones. Varmilo describes it simply as classic blue and ocean elements. It isn't one keyboard. Varmilo has printed it on boards from its classic wired VA Series to EC switch models, wireless hot-swap boards, the MIYA Pro and a matching numpad, so the model code matters more than the name. The caps are dye-sub PBT, which keeps the printing sharp for years. Full-size versions outnumber the others in the lineups we checked, and Varmilo still sells a 108-key Sea Melody with EC switches. Decide how you want to type first, whether Cherry MX, Varmilo EC or hot-swap, then find the Sea Melody that matches.

Versions
Sea Melody is a theme, so the board underneath depends on the model code. It was sold as the VA Series V2 in TKL and full size (VEA87, VEA108), as Bluetooth V2 boards (VED87, VED108), with Varmilo EC switches (VPM108, and the EC V3 Sea Melody 108), as hot-swap wireless VPT108 and APT108 boards, as the VA100, as the MIYA Pro 65%, and as a VB21M Bluetooth numpad. Full-size versions outnumber the TKLs in the lineups we checked, and Varmilo says its 80% Sea Melody has sold out for good. The newer VPT, APT and VA100 boards are hot-swap and wireless, while the classic VEA boards are wired with soldered Cherry MX switches.
The novelty keys and printed space bar are the theme, and they're the parts that go missing or get swapped. Light blue cases show dirt and yellowing more than dark ones.

Buying guide
We'd buy the 73-key Sea Melody titled used and tested at $142 delivered, the cheapest board here from a seller over 98%, as long as you're fine with a Japanese layout and Varmilo's EC Jasmine switches. There are at least 4 Sea Melody boards for sale, too few for the $130–200 band to be a market read, and three of them come from one Japan dealer with $47–60 shipping and JP layouts, which have a short space bar, extra keys and Japanese legends. The only US board, a VA87M with Cherry MX Silent Red at $123 delivered, is from a seller at 88.9%, so read the feedback before you pay. On any of them, check the photos for the whale space bar and the shell and jellyfish keys, since that art is what you're paying for.
