The One 3 is the board that brought hot-swap to Ducky's One line. Pull a keycap and a switch and you'll see yellow Kailh sockets, so you can try different switches without a soldering iron. Ducky calls the rest of the recipe Quack Mechanics. There's a silicone pad and a layer of EVA foam inside the case, and the stabilizers are Ducky's own, lubed at the factory. Most colorways get thick doubleshot PBT caps that stay matte. Everything is set on the keyboard itself, with Ducky Macro and four DIP switches on the underside, so there's nothing to install. When RTINGS tested a full-size unit with Cherry MX Browns it called the typing quality superb. This page is the full-size board with the number pad. If you don't need the numbers, the TKL, SF and Mini have the same insides in smaller cases, and the full-size tends to be the easiest one to find in a plain black Classic.

Versions
The One 3 came in four sizes, all with the same hot-swap PCB and dampening. This page is the full-size board, model DKON2108ST with RGB or DKON2108 without, and the others are the TKL, the 65% SF and the 60% Mini. Most colorways, like Classic, Matcha, Daybreak and Cosmic Blue, use doubleshot PBT caps, and Ducky's manual says the One 3 shipped with either PBT or ABS. The Aura editions are the odd ones out, with doubleshot ABS pudding caps and a clear case. The One 3 Pro Nazca is a later variant with its own name. Switch choices were mostly Cherry MX, including Speed Silver and Clear, and Ducky's site also lists Gateron Baby Kangaroo and Kailh Box Jellyfish Y on the Aura.
Because it's hot-swap, a used One 3 may not have the switches it shipped with, and a careless swap can bend switch pins or damage a socket. Ducky's manual tells you to support the socket with a finger when you push a switch in.

Buying guide
We'd buy the Aura Black titled DKON2108ST and excellent used at $100 delivered, $79 under the new Aura Clear Black on this page. There are at least 17 listed, and the $120–270 delivered band mixes new retail stock (eight new cards with a $239 median delivered) with used boards, which run from $58 in the US to $150–420 from Japan dealers who add $47–118 shipping. Every One 3 is hot-swap, so ask which switches are in it now and whether any were swapped, and ask for a video tapping the space bar, Enter, Backspace and both Shifts to check for rattle. Two listings here picture a TKL or a 60% board under a One 3 title, so check the photos for a number pad before you buy. Aura editions have glossy ABS pudding caps and the rest should be matte PBT, and the Vault-Tec edition at $1,000 is about five times the median.
