The V3 is the tenkeyless member of Keychron's V-series, on sale from 2022. It keeps the function row and the navigation cluster and drops the numpad, which makes it the V-series board for people coming from a regular office keyboard. Underneath it's the same recipe as the V1 and V2. There's an ABS case on a tray mount, a steel plate, screw-in stabilizers, south-facing RGB and an acoustic silicone pad, with hot-swap sockets that take 3- and 5-pin MX switches. QMK and VIA mean every key can be remapped, and the knob version adds a rotary knob you can map to anything. Fully assembled boards came with Keychron K Pro Red, Blue or Brown switches and double-shot OSA PBT keycaps with both Mac and Windows caps in the box. It's wired only over USB-C. The aluminum Q3 is the gasket-mounted step up, and later V3 Max and V3 8K boards are different keyboards.

Which Keychron V3 is it?
Sold fully assembled or barebone, each with or without a knob, in translucent Frosted Black or Carbon Black. ISO boards came with shine-through ABS keycaps. The V3 Max (wireless), V3 8K and V3 Ultra 8K are later boards, and the Q3 is the aluminum, gasket-mounted sibling.
What to check
Like any hot-swap board, a used V3 may have swapped switches, and one seated crooked can leave a key dead or chattering. Keychron's own fix for a double-typing key starts with swapping in a known-good switch.
01Switches: Ask the seller which switches are in it and whether they're stock. Stock boards have Keychron K Pro Red, Blue or Brown.
02Which V3: Check the title and photos for the plain V3. The V3 Max is wireless and the V3 8K is a later wired board.
03Chatter: Ask for a typing test video at keyboardtester.com or similar. Each key should light up once per press.
04Stabilizers: Ask for a video of the space bar, Enter and both Shifts pressed at the ends. They should sound even, with no rattle.
05Mac and Windows caps: Ask whether the spare Mac and Windows keycaps and the cable come with it. They shipped in the box, so a full set is a good sign.
06Firmware: On arrival, open VIA or the Keychron Launcher and remap one key. The board should show up and save the change.

Buying guide
Which one to buy
§ Oct 14, 2026
We'd buy the knob V3 shown lit up at $66 delivered from a 100% US seller, about half what a new one asks here. There are at least 9 for sale and most ask $65–190 delivered, but new boards at $117–190 set the top of that, while used US boards ask $56–66. Every V3 is hot-swap, so ask which switches are fitted and for a keyboardtester.com video with every key, since a switch seated crooked can leave a key dead or chattering. Skip the $77 open-box board from a zero-feedback seller, the $190 new one at about 1.6 times the median, and the $230 barebone from Japan, whose photo shows no switches or caps.

The lowest delivered V3 at $56, titled English QWERTY with black, gray and red caps, from a 100% US seller. It isn't titled tested, so ask for a typing test video.
A knob V3 shown lit up, at $66 delivered from a 100% US seller, about half the $117 a new one asks here. Ask which switches are fitted, since the title doesn't say.
