The Q3 is the tenkeyless member of the family, with a full function row, the six-key navigation block and arrows where you expect them. Keychron listed it in February 2022. Underneath it's the familiar Q recipe, a CNC-machined aluminum case of about 2 kg, a gasket-mounted steel plate with silicone pads between the case halves, south-facing RGB and hot-swap sockets for 3- and 5-pin MX switches. Standard boards came with pre-lubed Gateron G Pro switches and OSA-profile doubleshot PBT caps. On the knob version the encoder sits in the function row just right of F12 and turns the volume by default. Keychron later sold special editions with a long list of other switches from its own K Pro range, Kailh and Gateron, including Kailh Box Cream, so read the listing for which one you're getting. If you like a standard layout and want the Q build, this is the safe choice.

Which Keychron Q3 is it?
Standard boards came with Gateron G Pro switches, with or without a knob. Special editions came with Keychron K Pro (Banana, Mint, Silver or Yellow), Kailh Box Cream, Kailh Midnight Pro, Kailh Crystal Burgundy, Kailh Clione Limacina or Gateron Baby Kangaroo switches. ISO models came with shine-through ABS caps. The Q3 Pro adds Bluetooth, and the Q3 Max, Q3 HE and Q3 Ultra are later boards.
What to check
A hot-swap board invites tinkering, so many used Q3s have different switches, caps or foam from stock. Check the stabilizers, run a key test, and make sure the USB-C port connects firmly, since it sits on a daughterboard joined to the main PCB by a ribbon cable.
01Which edition: Ask the seller for the box or order details and which switches came in it. A standard board has Gateron G Pro, and the special editions list their switch on the box.
02Switch swap: Ask for a photo of a few switches with the caps pulled, from the alphas and the arrows. They should all match, with no bent pins or cracked housings.
03Stabilizers: Ask for a video tapping the space bar, Enter, Backspace and both Shifts at each end. They should go down evenly with no rattle or tick.
04Chatter: Ask for a typing test at keyboardtester.com covering the navigation block too. Each key should register once per press.
05Knob: On the knob version, ask for a clip turning it both ways and pressing it. It should click through each step and register the press.
06Feet and case: Look at the bottom of the case in the photos. The rubber feet should all be there, and deep scratches in the aluminum are permanent.

Which one to buy
§ Oct 14, 2026
We'd buy the grey knob Q3 with brown switches and Higround caps at $110 delivered from a 100% US seller, or the blue one titled sealed at $145 if you'd rather nobody had typed on it. There are at least 18 for sale and most ask $100–190 delivered, with boards carded new from US sellers at $105–241 setting much of that, open-box liquidation boards at $70–100 and the few used US boards near $110. Most new and open-box listings show only Keychron's product renders, so ask for photos of the actual board, and on any used one ask which switches are fitted, for a keyboardtester.com video that covers the navigation block, and for a clip of the space bar and Shifts to catch rattle. The no-bid auction is worth a bid up to about $100, where fixed-price boards start, and we'd skip the $432 Cyrillic-legend board from Japan.

A no-bid auction at $58 delivered right now, with the board shown in its open box in the seller's photo. We'd stop at about $100, since open-box and used boards start there at fixed prices.
A used knob Q3 in grey with brown switches and Higround caps as titled, at $110 delivered from a 100% US seller. Ask whether the stock caps come too and for a typing test video with every key.
Titled sealed, a blue Q3 at $145 delivered, under the $161 median. The photo is Keychron's render, so ask for a picture of the sealed box before you buy.

A Q3F1 knob board listed for parts at $50 with free shipping, with no fault given. Open-box boards ask only $20–50 more, so it's only worth it if you can fix boards and want the case.
