The V2 is the 65% board in Keychron's V-series, launched in 2022 as the plastic way into the custom-keyboard features of the aluminum Q2. Keychron pitched the V-series at people new to custom keyboards, and the parts list backs that up. You get hot-swap sockets for 3- and 5-pin MX switches, a steel plate, screw-in stabilizers, south-facing RGB and QMK with VIA, so every key and the optional knob can be remapped. The case is ABS and tray mounted, and Keychron lists an assembled board at about 855 g. It's wired only, over USB-C. Stock boards came with Keychron K Pro switches in Red, Blue or Brown and double-shot PBT keycaps in OSA profile. Because the switches pull out, a lot of used V2s have been tinkered with, which can be a plus if the new parts are good ones. Just make sure the seller tells you what's fitted.

Versions
Which Keychron V2 is it?
Sold fully assembled or barebone, each with or without a knob, in translucent Frosted Black or Carbon Black. ISO boards came with shine-through ABS keycaps. The V2 Max is the later wireless version, and the Q2 is the aluminum, gasket-mounted sibling. Lots of K-series listings say V2 to mean Version 2, so read the title closely.
What to check
Used V2s are often modded, so switches, keycaps or foam may not be stock. A key that double-types or needs a hard press is usually a tired or badly seated switch, and Keychron's first fix is swapping in a known-good one.
01What's fitted: Ask the seller to list the switches and keycaps and say whether either was changed. Stock is Keychron K Pro switches and double-shot PBT caps.
02Model: Read the title and photos for V2 alone, with no K before it. A Keychron K2 V2 or K6 V2 is a different, wireless board.
03Typing test: Ask for a short typing test video at keyboardtester.com or similar. Every key should register once per press.
04Stabilizers: Ask for a video of the space bar, Enter, Backspace and Shift being pressed. They should sound even, with no rattle.
05Knob: If you want the knob version, check for it in the photos. Ask the seller to show it turning the volume up and down.
06Keycaps: Check the keycaps in the photos for shine on the space bar and home row. Stock double-shot PBT stays matte, so gloss means replaced caps.

Buying guide
Which one to buy
§ Oct 14, 2026
We'd buy the open-box V2 at $99 with free shipping from a 100% US seller, whose photo shows it in its box with the guide, or the new one at $90 from reliableflipz if Keychron's product photo is enough for you. Only four V2s are listed, so the $85–110 band isn't a market read. The only used board, at $88 delivered, is titled Japanese QWERTY layout, so check the photos for Japanese legends, a short space bar and a tall Enter before you buy it for US typing. New V2s ask $90–122 here, so a used US-layout one should ask well under $90, and since every V2 is hot-swap, ask which switches are fitted now.

The lowest delivered V2 at $88 from a 100% US seller, but it's titled Japanese QWERTY layout. A JIS board has Japanese legends, extra keys and a shorter space bar, so check the photos before you buy it for US typing.
